The Sea
Not to be underestimated! On a calm day, the sea might resemble a swimming pool, sometimes even matching its color. But remember, it is still the sea! It’s deep, home to marine life, and weather conditions can shift suddenly.
Watch your step when entering or exiting the sea. Sea urchins are actually a sign of clean water and pose no threat if you’re prepared — just wear water shoes to protect your feet.
If you plan to use a stand-up paddleboard (SUP), always check the weather forecast. Be mindful of the currents and manage your energy wisely. Don’t forget to bring sunscreen, water, and a hat to stay protected from the sun!
The Wind
The wind serves as nature’s best air conditioning in the bay. Simply open the windows, and you won’t need the A/C — that was our intention designing the house. A perfect spot to enjoy this is the hall on floor -1, between the terrace and the atrium. Open the windows on both sides and revel in the breeze.
However, the wind can sometimes be strong, so please secure your belongings and anything else that might be blown away. Remember to close the windows and secure the large umbrellas on the sun deck, especially if you plan to leave the house.
The same caution applies during rain. The outdoor areas can become slippery when wet.
The Garden
The light switch for the pool is located on the house wall beneath the balcony.
There is a watering system in the garden, you might have seen the hoses. It runs once in the morning and once at night. The system is also under the gravel, so please don ́t step on the gravel.
Villa Roots is not in a city or a town. It is surrounded by nature and it´s impossible to keep all the little animals away.
We provide you with mosquito protection plugs in every bathroom in case those bugs love you. Insert a blue tablet and put the plug into the socket of your bedroom maybe an hour before you go to sleep. Don ́t forget to unplug them in the morning.
